Wakefield Police Arrest Alleged Heroin Dealer

A 21-year-old Lawrence man was arrested Monday afternoon after his vehicle was stopped.

A 21-year-old Lawrence man is facing heroin charges after his vehicle was stopped Monday afternoon on North Ave.

Oscar B. Ovalles, 133 Woodland Street, Lawrence, was pulled over after police in the vicinity of Avon Street saw a male get into the vehicle's passenger side and then exit after a drive of about thirty feet, department spokesman Lt. Craig Calabrese told Wakefield Patch.

Calabrese also indicated that the arrest was part of an investigation by Wakefield detectives Chris Grace and Jack Ryan.

Officer Rossicone was reportedly on the scene as well with the department’s K9, and police allegedly recovered 49 bags of heroin hidden inside the 2004 Chevy Malibu in its side, as well as over $1,000 in cash. The heroin reportedly amounts to 27 grams with a street value of about $2,000.
