Car Crashes Into Wakefield Dance Studio

Four female teenagers and two adult females were injured and transported to local hospitals.

Update: 8:29 a.m. - Wakefield Police have provided a full description of what happened Thursday night. The incident happened around 7 p.m. 

When the vehicle, a 2010 Honda Accord, crashed into the studio at 840 Main Street. Police reported that the car crashed through the front of the dance studio and came to rest inside the building.

Four teenage females and two adult females were transported to local hospitals “with what appear to be non life threatening injuries,” according to Wakefield Police.

The operator of the vehicle was a 55 year old woman who was cited and will be charged with operating negligently so as to endanger. Wakefield Police and the State Police Accident Reconstruction Team continue to investigate.

— A Patch editor on scene reports a crowd of about 150 has gathered at Dance Track Studio, including emergency personnel.

A perimeter about 50 feet by 50 feet has been blocked off.

A car has crashed through the front of Dance Track Studio in Wakefield, according to multiple reports.

A photo posted to Twitter by Rick Nohl shows a car that has plunged through the plate glass at the 1117 Main St. dance center.

There are multiple reports on Twitter that possibly five people were taken away by ambulance.
