ReplyJessica, I agree there are some buildings on Rt. 28 that should be demolished or renovated. But I do not feel Rt 28 is a "Slum Strip" as you put it. There are some very nice buildings and businesses on Rt 28 and I would guess they do not appreciate your comment.

Bicycles are not aloowed to ride on sidewalks in Mass. I know it happens but it is not allowed for several reasons the main one being the safety of the persons using the sidewalks.

Please be advised the Town of Reading will be resurfacing Haverhill St. on Tuesday May 28th and Wednesday May 29th from the North Reading line to Wakefield St. This will include Charles St. from Haverhill St. to Dana Rd. The contractor will begin in the northbound lane at the North Reading line at 7am on Tuesday heading towards Wakefield St. The same route will be done Wednesday in the southbound lane. Charles St. paving will be done on Wednesday. Please expect detours and delays.
