Wakefield Police Log for Tuesday, January 31, 2012 8:54 a.m. - A Wakefield Police officer on patrol on Main Street said he noticed an Acura with tinted windows that appeared to be darker than what is allowed. The officer stopped the vehicle and said he detected an odor of marijuana in the car. Upon investigation, the officer found a small bag of marijuana, totalling less than an ounce. Wakefield Police said that a woman entered the Dunkin Donuts at 386 Main Street in Wakefield and began arguing with the cashier about how she was unhappy with her coffee. Someone apparently broke into the home, which was under construction, and stole several boxes of nails worth $300 and two propane heaters valued at $240. Two Wakefield Police officers moved up in rank this week at the Wakefield Police Department, effective November 4th, 2011. Officer Steven Skory, who joined the force in July 2000 and was promoted to Sergeant in Feburary 2007, has assumed the role of Lieutenant, and Officer Josiah Curry, who joined the department in September of 2009, was promoted to Sergeant.
