Nan Hockenbury, chair of the Lynnfield Historical Commission and the Lynnfield Historical Society, told Patch.com Monday that the gazebo was initially proposed several years ago and remains in its very early planning stages. Lynnfield selectmen voted Monday night to have the project go forward, she added. The Lynnfield Rotary has indicated that it will provide financial support for the project - with the costs primarily limited to the building materials. I was in a class there tonight. It was going pretty good by the time we got out. You could see the flames inside and smoke was just bellowing out. It was a very orderly evacuation. I would say that WFD showed up within 2 minutes after the alarm sounded. I don't think anyone was hurt but it looks like it's going to be a long night for the firefighters as I think the fire was reaching the roof as I…   more ›
