Wakefield Boys' Hockey Crushes Lexington 8-1

The Warriors scored five unanswered goals in the third period.

It wasn’t even close. The Wakefield Memorial High School boys’ hockey team outplayed, outshot and outscored Lexington High School 8-1 Wednesday evening at Lexington’s John P. Chase Skating Facility. “I thought everyone played really well. We got all 21 guys in tonight, which is a big, big thing,” said WMHS coach Derek Edgerly.  “I thought we came back in the second and third and really played Wakefield hockey. I’m just glad we only need two more points to get into the tournament.” The Warriors were winning 3-1 after the first two periods. Going into the third, they just started shooting and scoring, making five unanswered goals against the Minutemen and their goalies, freshman Macallan Sutton and sophomore Chaz Smith. 14 seconds into play …
