The annual celebration of Italian food and culture in Wakefield is quickly approaching. Wakefield's Festival Italia will take place on Friday August 10th and Saturday the 11th this year, with more vendors, more prizes, more fun and more buongiorno. The third annual Wakefield Italian Festival promises to bring in more restaurants than last year, more live entertainment, and nearly 70 outdoor vendors. "It's a little bit more of everything," said organizer Selectman Paul DiNocco, head of the Wakefield Event Planning Committee. From the organizers: The Event Planning Committee kicks off its Festival Italia Weekend on August 12‐13, with an Italian Buffet at the Sheraton Hotel in Wakefield on Friday August 12th. The dinner will feature a cocktail hour from 6‐7 with a buffet‐style dinner and entertainment from 7‐10:30. Seven Wakefield restaurants will participate in the event: Blue Moon Grille, Café Jags, CnD Barbecue, Dockside Restaurant, Harrington’s, Ristorante Molise and Zalek’s. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased at the Wakefield Daily Item or contacting the Event Planning Committee through e‐mail: wakefieldeventscommittee@gmail.com or calling 781‐245‐ 8874.
