Recycle Your Electronics, Jan. 5th

The Dance Studio of Wakefield Competition Team is holding an electronics recycling drive on Saturday, Jan. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Galvin Middle School on Main Street in Wakefield. For $25, items that can be dropped off include plastic TVs, wood or console TVs, and projection TVs. $10 items include household appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, water heaters, stoves, dishwashers, washers, dryers, barbeque grills (no propane tanks), computers, monitors and laptops. For free, you can also drop off cell phones, speakers, video games and systems, camera/video/audio equipment, fax/copy machines, printers, wires, plugs, drives, cards, toasters, irons and hair dryers.

Dance Studio Of Wakefield Entering Last Week Of Toys For Tots Donations

Can you help out Toys for Tots this holiday season?

The following is from Dance Studio of Wakefield: The Dance Studio of Wakefield has already collected more than 150 toy donations for the Toys for Tots campaign.  We would like to send a heart felt THANK YOU to all who have given to the Toy Drive.  We are humbled by the generosity of our students, their families and the community.  This is an annual event that the students look forward too as their way of giving back to the community.  "No sooner are we back from Thanksgiving Break the dancers ask us when the Toys for Tots box will be up and how will it be decorated this season" says Diane Abraham.  If you would like to contribute to the donation please stop by and drop off an unwrapped toy to our studio by Friday December 14th or at the …

Local Dancers Perform At Fashion Week Event

Dance Studio of Wakefield students recently performed at Boston Fashion Week kickoff event.

Dance Studio of Wakefield co-owner Diane Abraham reports that its dancers were asked to return and be the sole performers for the Boston Fashion Week kickoff event at the Emerald Lounge. Participating dancers were: Nicole Cotter and Caroline Morey of Wakefield, Jessica Schores, Shannon Ahern and Cara Fuccillo of Stoneham and Carley Johnson of Lynnfield.  Susan Edson is the artistic director along with Andrea Lynch.

PHOTOS: Wakefield Dance Team Performs for Boston's Most Stylish

Five high school seniors performed at the event in front of the 25 "Most Stylish" Bostonians.

Five students from the Dance Studio of Wakefield performed as part of the the Boston Globe's Style Magazine Boston Fashion Week kickoff party on Sept. 19 at the Petit Robert restaurant in Boston. Andrea Fanikos, Kayla Milburn, Danielle Leahy all from Wakefield, Tia DeVincenzo from Stoneham and Jessica Lake from West Newbury, all are seniors in high school, posed in windows for two hours changing poses every two to three minutes then, accompanied by songs Oh La La, Judas, and Relax, performed a dance routine. "They were the hit of the night," said studio owner Diane Abraham. "We are excited because we have had so many follow up phone calls from the organizers and attendees on how they impressed they were.
