Wakefield to Test New Emergency Notification System on June 6th

If you haven't yet signed up for Wakefield's new emergency notification system, CodeRed, you'll want to do so as soon as possible. That's because a townwide test of its emergency notification system will be held at 3 p.m. on June 6th, according to Wakefield Fire Chief Michael Sullivan. The test will allow residents and businesses to make sure the correct phone numbers have been entered since the system changed over on May 1, 2012. “No one should automatically assume his or her phone number is included,” Chief Sullivan said, noting that even if you've received previous messages from the old system, you're not necessarily in the town's new database.
