Christmas has come and gone. Has a holiday hangover set in? Or are you singing the "Christmas Goes Too Fast" blues? The parents yap about their traditions and do a postmortem on the holiday. We hope you'll share your thoughts too.
Tasha Schlake Festel By this time every year, I usually have a Christmas hangover. All of the previous weeks' hurrying, scurrying, eating and spending leave me feeling beaten down and exhausted. Come December 26th, I am all done with Christmas, looking forward to getting past New Years' Eve, and wishing for the quick arrival of the usual routine. But for some reason, this year is different. I am not hung over! Sure, I'm tired, but I'm still feeling energized and ready to party on for the holidays, sad to say goodbye to Christmas but excitedly looking forward to New Year's Eve, even dreading the return to the grind come January 2nd. If you celebrate Christmas and still have shopping to do, this is crunch time. Just three days left until Christmas morning. Retailers are happy this year because of the way the calendar falls. It provides an extra full day of shopping versus last year, when Christmas Eve fell on a Saturday. So tell us, North Shore. Are you done shopping? Holiday stress, it seems, equals holiday cheer! How do you handle the pressure to shop?
With Black Friday that started a week prior, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday, did you have a shopping hangover on Tuesday? Do you participate in the shopping craze that has become synonymous with the holidays? Tasha Schlake Festel I love Black Friday. That's right. I look forward to it every year. It's been a tradition in my family for as long as I can remember. I stuff myself on Thanksgiving, and then work it all off with my mom and sister at the mall the next day. It's simply not Thanksgiving until we've filled our bellies and emptied our wallets. I have always loved to shop. Granted, I love it more when I actually have money to spend, but still. Shopping is fun. And even more so on that crazy Black Friday. I love the crowds…

Reading this column after the holidays is a good idea because my perspective changes almost daily. I was able to relate to all three moms and laugh a bit to myself.
