The case is already graphic and disturbing enough - but a number of parents, including this one that spoke to Wakefield Patch on Thursday, are alarmed that John Burbine, 49, was a Level 1 sex offender all along - even as he did work for his wife's day care business. Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone noted at a Thursday press conference that Burbine had a 1989 conviction for indecent assault and battery on his record. Two other complaints against Burbine in 2005 and 2009 were later deemed not prosecutable. A New Hampshire couple accused of brutally beating a toddler may be hiding out somewhere on the North Shore. Police had received reports of possible sightings of Jessica Linscott, 23, and boyfriend Roland Dow, 27, of Plaistow, N.H. in Swampscott on Tuesday and then in Lynn on Wednesday and in Salem on Thursday, reports the Salem News. Danvers police reported there was another possible sighting on Friday. Linscott and Dow are facing multiple charges of first-degree assault, neglect and endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly abusing Linscott's three-year-old son, James.
