Police Log, Feb. 8: Alleged Prescription Drug Dealer from Reading Arrested

Wakefield Police Log for Wednesday, February 8, 2012 (selective list): Featured Item: 12:50 p.m. - Wakefield Police arrested a Reading man suspected of dealing prescription drugs in Wakefield. Police arrested John Moses, 23, of 24 Haverhill St. in Reading, MA after allegedly seeing him complete a drug transaction in the parking lot of the Honey Dew Donuts on Lowell Street. Wakefield detectives and the Middlesex Regional Drug Task Force had Moses under investigation for several weeks and had been monitoring him. After police allegedly witnessed the transaction, they said they confronted Moses and found 18 pills of Percocet and $517 in cash on him. Moses will be charged with two counts of distributing a Class B substance (Percocet), …

Police Log, Nov. 9: Multiple Car Breaks on Bartley/Lake Street

Wakefield Police Log for Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011 (selective list): 8:29 p.m. - A prisoner was transported to Malden District Court. 8:38 p.m. - Three cars were reported broken into overnight on Bartley Street. All vehicles were parked in a driveway, although all three vehicles were also unlocked. Stolen from the cars was a wallet and about $40 in cash. 11:14 a.m. - Two more cars were reported broken into overnight, this time on Lake Street. The cars were also parked in the driveway and left unlocked. Approximately $40 in quarter rolls and $15 in loose change was taken. 11:22 a.m. - Police arrested Jason Nickerson, 37, of 41 Putnam Ave in Wakefield on an outstanding warrant for a suspended license charge. Wakefield Police Log for Tuesday, November 8, 2011 (selective list): 8:15 a.m. - A prisoner was transported to Malden District Court, but the court refused to accept the prisoner under the belief he may have swallowed 15 grams of cocaine, police said. He was then taken to Melrose-Wakefield for evaluation. 8:39 a.m. - A Parker Circle resident reported her vehicle was broken into overnight. However, police had no further information on this incident at this time. 11:10 a.m. - A Salem Street business reported renting out a Bobcat tractor on October 28th to be returned on the 29th, but as of November 8th, the machinery had not been returned. Wakefield Police Log for Friday, Oct. 21 to Sunday, Oct. 23 (selective list): Friday, Oct. 21: 9:54 a.m. - After a standard registry check, Dino Persia, 57, of 17 Babson Street in Wakefield was arrested for driving with a suspended license. Police say Persia was driving in a 1998 black Chevy pickup truck on Main Street in the area of Morel Circle. He was also charged with not having a valid inspection sticker and not having the car's registration in his possession. 10:19 a.m. - Police arrested Robert Swenson, 27, of 11 Seven Springs Lane in Burlington, after they stopped him for a suspended registration, but found at least 100 pieces of loose jewelry in his car. Wakefield Police Log for Monday, October 17: 8:30 a.m. - Several issues were reported with MBTA gates on North Ave and Albion. The lights were seen flashing even when no train was in sight, but the gates were not stuck down. The MBTA was contacted and someone was sent to Wakefield to fix the lights. 9:41 a.m. - A caller reported a suspicious man sitting in a black car for about two hours working on a laptop. Police Log, Oct. 14-16: Five Arrested in Wakefield Over the Weekend

Wakefield Police Log for Friday, Oct. 14 to Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011 (selective list): Friday, Oct. 14: 9:50 a.m. - Police arrested Michael McNeil, 33, of 25 Gould Street in Wakefield. Police said they came across a car registered to McNeil parked on Hamilton Road, and determined that McNeil had a suspended license. Wakefield officers watched the area for a while and observed McNeil exit a building, enter his car and begin to drive away. Police then stopped the vehicle, confirmed it was McNeil driving and that he had a suspended license, and took him into custody. 9:58 a.m. - Two Wakefield residents were arrested for outstanding warrants. Police Log for Tuesday, August 9 (selective list): 8:11 a.m. - Thousands of dollars in materials were stolen from a New Salem Street construction yard overnight, according to police. Police said that a bucket, worth $1600, was stolen from the premises, along with $1,000 worth of scrap metal. Police have a surveillance video which shows the robbery and detectives are currently investigating the incident. 9:44 a.m. - A homeowner on Lowell Street called police to report a sighting of a large scorpion near the storm drain.
