Sara, What does this town currently offer to the children of this community? Nothing! All of ourRead More boardering towns/cities offer a YMCA and/or a youth center, we don not. Do you want your children , or your future children walking aimlessly through the town, bored and being asked to leave the local establishments because they have worn out their welcome. I certainly do not want my girls uptown 'hanging out", and being exposed to the population that now panhandle on our streets, smoke butts and drool on themselves, these people belong in supervised living facilities, but the state chooses not to assist these people and have put the burden on local towns and cities. Have you ever thought where all the residents of Danvers State Hospital live, look around. I have been in Emergency Medicine for 18 years. I have seen the demise of the innocence of our youth, because of greed and drugs. I have lived here for 40 years, and have invested my hard earned money by purchasing a home. I spend over 4,000.00 in taxes and yet the taxes are not funding this center, it is donations, efforts of the concerned parents and a yearly membership, as mentioned in the article. So if you pay taxes your monies will not be utilized Sara!. I am EXCITED Sara about this proejct, as you asked, way overdue. Thank you volunteers, and the strong voices that made this happen, count me in for volunteering and fundraising. Joyce Keenan, single parent of 2 middle school girls
