Set up in an industrial part of town, this homey bakery may seem a bit out of place, but once customers step foot inside, they forget the smoke stacks outside, reveling in the aroma of nearly 30 different kinds of pastries. Going through almost a ton of cake materials a week, D'Amici's obvious specialty is its custom cakes, although muffins, cookies and hot coffee are offered as well. The bakery caters many private events, and customers can order online, over the phone or at either of D'Amici's two Wakefield locations.

I ordered a special cake for my Husband a month before the party. I sent in detailed pictures and told them exactly what I wanted. What did I receive a half hour before the party???? Completely opposite of what I ordered. Ugliest cake I have ever seen.
What I ordered: A black fire helmet cake and 50 cupcakes. I even sent in pictures of his helmet and spoke to someone about how I wanted it to look like his exact helmet. They said it wasn't a problem and they have done fire helmets before,
What I received: A red baseball cap with a blue police shield and the word "lieutenant" spelled wrong on the front.
After they told me there was nothing they could do to fix it. They said they could charge me for the actual cake and not the decorating costs. I declined because that cake was a disgrace. I wouldn't have taken it if it were for free.
They charged me for the cupcakes which I think was bullsh*t. They already ruined my night, but here is the kicker!!!! I get to the party and open the box to discover I paid for 50 cupcakes and only received 40.
Terrible, disgraceful, and unacceptable. I will NEVER buy anything from them again. and I urge you all to look elsewhere for custom cakes or goodies because they are unreliable.
OWNERS OF THIS BAKERY Get your crap together. You ruined my night. When someone gives you a specific picture with the exact words spelled on it how the hell do you spell it wrong on the cake?????
