Share The Love Saturday With PAWS

Pet adoption awareness event at Subaru of Wakefield Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. includes adoptable pets and pet gifts. Plus, bring your pets for photos with Santa.

The following was provided by PAWS of Wakefield:

Come join PAWS Wakefield this Saturday, December 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the annual Share the Love pet adoption awareness event with Subaru of Wakefield. Meet new furry friends, bring your pets for photos with Santa, a free nail trim, or low-cost microchips.

The fifth annual Share the Love campaign and celebration will include adoptable pets from PAWS and MassPAWS, Ask the Vet with Dr. Christine Pelletier of VCA Wakefield Animal Hospital, people and pet gifts for sale from local pet-related venders and providers, Mary Kay products by Cindy Maiuri, and more.

New this year is the opportunity to learn more about your dog’s family tree.  DNA testing will be available for only $70.  Find out who’s in your pet’s lineage and gain important information for understanding your pet’s health, training, and nutrition needs with a simple dog DNA test.

PAWS is also asking people to drop by their donation station, the trunk of a car, at Subaru of Wakefield during showroom hours from December 1 through the December 14th event. Suggested donations include cat food (especially canned), kitten food, litter, dog food, scratching posts, toys and bedding. All donations will be distributed to PAWS and MassPAWS foster homes and other participating organizations.  The remaining donated items will be distributed to needy families in our area who cannot afford these items. Please call PAWS at 781-246-6111 for more information.

Finally, if you are in the market for a new car, consider a Subaru from Subaru of Wakefield and choose PAWS as your charity.  For every car leased or purchased at Subaru of Wakefield from November 21, 2013 through January 2, 2014, Subaru will donate $250 to the one of six charities, as specified by the new car owner.  PAWS is the only Wakefield-based charity involved with this special promotion.
