Community Art Show: The Friends of Lake Quannapowitt are holding a community art show later this fall at the Americal Civic Center. The show opens Nov. 8 and members of the community are invited to submit a variety of media. Click here for complete information.

There’s a household hazardous materials collection day on Saturday, September 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Wakefield High School. Reading and Wakefield residents only – bring driver’s license. No commercial waste. Call the Wakefield DPW at 781-246-6301 for more information.

Blood Drive: The Red Cross has announced that its next blood drive in Wakefield is Friday, September 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sheraton on 1 Audubon Road.
