Coming up on Saturday, October 12 at 9 a.m., it’s the 11th Annual Walk/Run for the Club, to benefit the Boys and Girls Club. Click here for more information, including registration

The new season of Standing Room Only Concerts kicks off on Saturday, October 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church in downtown Wakefield with Zulu Time, an acoustic trio specializing in jazz, folk and much more. Tickets are available at www.sroconcerts.org.

This Friday, October 11 at 7 p.m., the Love for Haiti concert is at St. Joseph Parish, 173 Albion Street, with a 6:15 p.m. pre-concert social as well as raffles and a silent auction. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door, $5 for kids 10 and under.

On Wednesday, October 16 local historian John Wall will give a lecture on “The Wakefield Armory” at 7 p.m. at the Americal Civic Center. This is part of an ongoing series of historical lectures that help mark the 100th anniversary of the civic center building.
