Kayak Demo Night and Plaza Jazz Concert Among This Week's Events

A look at what's coming up in and around Wakefield.

Today is Monday, August 26. Here are five things worth knowing today. 

Eastern Mountain Sports has announced a kayak demo night on Lake Quannapowitt on Wednesday, August 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. People will be able to try out kayaks and buy them.

The Beebe Library has announced that its Plaza Jazz summer concert series is extended by one week. The final concert of the series is now Thursday, September 5, when blues band Pistol Pete & the Smoking Guns will perform 6-8 p.m.

The Wakefield Choral Society is holding an open rehearsal Monday, September 9 at the Wakefield High School music room from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. Open rehearsals are also reportedly scheduled for Monday, September 16 and Monday, September 23.

Town Business: The School Committee meets Tuesday, August 27 at 7 p.m. at the WCAT Studio.
