NEWS OF NOTE: Did you know that Massachusetts ranks #7 in the nation for number of Farmers Markets? Also, last week was National Farmers Market Week and next week, August 19-25, is Massachusetts Farmers Market Week. How better to celebrate than by pledging to support your local farmers market?

Just go to www.lovemyfarmersmarket.org and pledge to spend $10 at your favorite farmers market. You can pledge once a day up until September 9. As of Friday morning, we were #39 in the top 100 in the country. To learn more about National Farmers Market Week and how farmers markets contribute to our local economy, see the links about it at wakefieldfarmersmarket.com.

Our nonprofit guest today is Mission of Deeds, a local organization that offers furniture and other household items to needy families and individuals living in Middlesex and Essex counties of Massachusetts.  Incorporated in 1993, this group is dedicated to “transforming generosity into hope.” Do be sure to stop by and learn about this worthy organization.

HEY!!!  GO PLEDGE!!!!  COME ON!!!  You can do it daily!   Remember how you all voted our market #1 in our category in Massachusetts last year? This year instead of voting for your favorite market - participants are pledging to spend dollars at our favorite farmers market!  SO, let's get started, shall we?  :)  You can pledge to spend money at more than one market each DAY, but let's see if we can keep our Wakefield Farmers Market (MA) on the charts!  Simply go to www.lovemyfarmersmarket.org to select our market and make your pledge.
