Event Spotlight: Tech Talk on Social Networking at Library

Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 6:30 p.m. at the Lucius Beebe Memorial Library.

[The following information was provided by the Lucius Beebe Memorial Library.]

The Beebe Library will be hosting serveral talks on technology in the coming month by Elizabeth Thomsen, the Member Services Manager and one of the tech gurus at the North of Boston Library Exchange, a.k.a. NOBLE, the library consortium to which the Beebe library belongs.

Thomsen will address social networking, and in particular Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr. Among other things she will be talking about how to protect your privacy on Facebook, the separation of your personal and professional roles (i.e. Facebook or LinkedIn), and how to use some of those hidden settings so that you can keep in touch with your friends without being flooded with annoying Farmville messages and quizzes.
