Jazz Pianist Featured at Next 'Plaza Jazz' Performance

The Beebe Memorial Library will be skipping a concert this Thursday but will return next week with an up and coming graduate of Berkeley School of Music. 

The Thursday, July 11, Plaza Jazz Show will be featuring jazz pianist Grant Richards

Richards enrolled in Berkeley School of Music in 2009 as the recipient of the Jimmy Lyons Scholarship, given to only one student a year. 

So far in his career, Richards, 22, has played with a long list of renowned jazz artists including "Esperanza Spalding, Chuck Israels, Terri Lyne Carrington, Dave Liebman, Ben Wolfe, Damian Erskine, Greg Hopkins, John Lockwood, and Filo Machado," per the Beebe Memorial Library website. 

The Plaza Jazz concert will take place in the Beebe Library's front plaza from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 11.
