Wrestler With Down's Syndrome Highlighted In Area Media
Dan Gill, member of the Wakefield High School wrestling team, featured in region's media for match against state champ.
A 16 year old Wakefield High School student with Down’s Syndrome was highlighted in the region’s media recently for his match against a state champion wrestler.
As described in this report from CBS Boston, Dan Gill wrestled against 2012 state wrestling champ Steven Giampapa, who attends Burlington High School, and was able to walk away with a win to his credit.
Elsewhere, a report on Fox 25 Boston quoted Dan’s mother, Lauren, as saying that the match “was the world to my son that night.
