Dockside Owner Launches Frozen Yogurt Business

Wakefield resident Jack Urbaczewski, owner of four area Dockside restaurants, has three Boston Yogurt locations now open as well.

The owner of the Dockside restaurants in Wakefield, Malden and Chelsea has launched a new frozen yogurt business with a location in each of those towns.

Wakefield Patch recently paid a visit to the Boston Yogurt located in the Greenwood Plaza (963 Main Street), where Michelle Doucette of Dockside Restaurants provided a rundown of the new enterprise.

According to Doucette, Jack Urbaczewski, a Wakefield resident, opened his first Boston Yogurt location over July 4th weekend in Malden. He followed up with a Chelsea location over Labor Day weekend, and opened the Wakefield one at the end of September.  (Malden has two Dockside locations).

Boston Yogurt uses Honey Hill frozen yogurt, which Doucette noted is kosher and for most flavors, gluten-free. The business is also among the local eateries to have been healthy dining approved by the Mass. In Motion program, with a three ounce serving reportedly containing 100 calories. That said, there's also a wide variety of toppings available, as well as a selection of flavors expected to rotate every several weeks - including some seasonal ones.

Since opening, Boston Yogurt has been getting involved with the community by allowing local organizations to hold fundraisers where 20% of sales are donated. Birthday parties can also be arranged, and there's an active Facebook page that features a daily prize for any fan whose comment gets the most "likes."
