Wakefield Superintendent Holding Listening Sessions Around the Lake

Wakefield's new superintendent of schools, Dr. Stephen Zrike, announces he'll hold walking and listening sessions around Quannapowitt on Thursdays until the end of October.

Wakefield’s new superintendent of schools, Dr. Stephen Zrike, has announced that he’s holding walking and listening sessions around Lake Quannapowitt until the end of October.

The walks build off of Zrike’s “Sundaes With the Superintendent” meetings with community members, which took place at two of the town’s popular ice cream places in the weeks before school resumed.

For those who would like to join the superintendent for one of the remaining walks, the schedule is as follows:

Thursday, September 12 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Thursday, September 19 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Thursday, September 26 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Thursday, October 3 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Thursday October 10 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Thursday October 17 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Thursday, Octobr 24 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Walks will begin at the corner of Main Street and Cordis, and Zrike indicated that people are welcome to join him at any point during the walks, including at the gazebo at the end of a walk.

The superintendent expects to share a list of preliminary goals and priorities with the school committee and the community in December after spending much of the fall talking to parents, educators, and others.
