Three Finalists for Woodville Elementary School Principal Position

Superintendent Joan Landers has narrowed her search to three candidates.

Superintendent Joan Landers announced that three viable candidates have been found in the search for the new principal.

Brian Middleton-Cox, who has held the position since 2008, in Boxford, MA back in March. He ends his role as principal in Wakefield on June 30, 2011.

“In the past week and a half we’ve received many applications, I reviewed them with the search committee chairs and were able to screen, in the last two days, applicants to put forward to the search committee,” Landers said. “I’m very pleased to report that there are three viable candidates to put before the search committee that will be meeting tomorrow evening.”

Landers did not dislcose the names of the candidates, but did say that if none of the three were ultimately hired, the vacant position would be filled by an interim principal until a full-time person could be found.

“In the event that a finalist candidate is not appointed at this point in the process, I would be looking to appoint an interim principal for the Woodville School," she said.

Landers expressed optimism that she would not need to resort to that option, however.

“I was very pleased with the quality and the expertise of the candidates that I screened,” Landers said.
