Nominate A Science Educator For Rotary Project

Nominate a science educator to serve on a vocational training team going to the Philippines for three weeks this spring to work with local teachers.

The following is an announcement from the Rotary Club of Wakefield:

The Rotary Club of Wakefield is now accepting nominations for members of the Rotary Vocational Training Team. Members of the team must be science educators working in grades 1-6 or providing professional development to educators at this level. The team will participate in a professional exchange to the Philippines for three weeks from March 16-April 8, 2013. The team will be helping elementary teachers in the Philippines improve the teaching of science and learn new science techniques.

The team members will also visit Rotary clubs, attend the District Conference and see the sights in the Philippines. All travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by the Rotary Foundation. Rotary District 7930 will also provide funding to cover substitutes for classroom teachers while they are in the Philippines.  District interviews will be held January 12, 2013 in Salem, MA.
