Citizens Scholarship Fund Holds Annual Meeting

Student and adult Directors of the Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield gathered to present reports of the concluding year, to elect a new President and Board of Directors and to hear of plans for the upcoming year at the organization’s 52nd Annual Meeting.  The members enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner catered by Chuck Geier of the Chuck Wagon Diner.

The Nominating Committee, chaired by Bob Leahy, welcomed two new directors, Kacper Kruszewski and Christina Mogni.  Steven M. Coyne was warmly thanked for his two years of service as President.  The new slate of Executive Officers for the upcoming year will include, Faith Hodgkins, President; Jennifer Walter, Vice President; Jim Guarino, Financial Vice President; Pat Mooney, Financial Secretary; Jay Landers, Jr., Treasurer; Diane Lind, Secretary; and Jay Pinette, Auditor. All were warmly received by the membership.

Reports from Officers and Committee Chairs chronicled an exciting and successful year for the Citizens' Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield.  The Committee reports highlighted the closing year’s activities and presented plans for the upcoming year.  Bridget Donovan, WHS ’13, speaking on behalf of the CSF Student Directors, reported on the work of the student directors during the previous academic year and promised similar successes for 2013.           

Citizens' Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield, a Chapter of Dollars for Scholars, was founded in 1960.  Its purpose is to provide financial assistance to needy residents of Wakefield in their full time pursuit of higher education.
