Update 6:27 a.m. - St. Joseph School in Wakefield is closed, but as of this point, the Wakefield Public School District has not announced a cancellation.

Update 8:48 p.m. - A ham radio operator in Wakefield has reported to the National Weather Service that there was 1.5 inches of snow on the ground as of 8:08 p.m.

Update 4:09 p.m. - A message from the Massachusetts Executive Office of the Trial Court: The Massachusetts Trial Court has canceled First-day Jurors for Wednesday, January 22nd, in most counties statewide.   Jurors are still requested to appear in Berkshire County and Hampshire County. Also on Wednesday, courts will be closed in the following counties due to blizzard conditions forecasted to continue through the morning: Barnstable County, Bristol County, Plymouth County, as well as Dukes and Nantucket Counties.

Update 3:38 p.m. - Governor Patrick has sent home state employees for the day and is also asking private businesses to send their workers home as well before the storm hits.

Update, 2:32 p.m. - As noted at last week's Wakefield Selectmen's meeting, a number of locals were dismayed by the road conditions during the last storm. It turns out that with frigid temperatures, road salt can be risky to use because it can create black ice. This snow storm is looking a bit like the last one at this point - Very low temperatures with a good amount of snow. So if you have to drive, be careful because there's an elevated risk factor here.

Update, 1:13 p.m. - Any Tuesday evening activities in the Wakefield School District are postponed due to the storm. No word at this point on whether there's school tomorrow.
