Second Child Now a Victim in Sexual Abuse Case of Peabody Officer

Prosecutors say the second child, not a family member, has also made allegations of Wojick showing adult pornography.

Prosecutors say there is a second juvenile victim in a sexual abuse case against veteran Peabody police officer Fred Wojick.

Wojick, 48,  and he was initially arraigned on multiple charges in Peabody District Court in November. The case was then transferred to superior court after a grand jury indictment on Dec. 19.

The Salem News reports that Wojick was arraigned on additional charges in Salem Superior Court on Monday and prosecutors say Wojick allegedly showed adult pornography to a second child.

District Attorney spokesperson Carrie Kimball-Monahan said the child is not a family member.

She said authorities were aware of the possibility of a second victim two months ago, but went forward with the initial charges and wrapped up the investigation last month.

Kimball-Monahan said the added charge of disseminating pornography only relates to the second juvenile while three more counts of indecent assault and battery (on a person over 14) are related to the first victim. Essentially the assault charges now reflect the six-year span the victim claims she was molested.

Wojick faces a total of nine counts of indecent assault and battery and two counts of disseminating pornography. He again pleaded not guilty, reports the Salem News.

Wojick's attorney Tom Drechsler has fully denied the allegations and says the real issue was a boyfriend Wojick had disapproved of.

When Wojick was first arraigned, Drechsler called the allegations "salacious" and "sensationalized" and argued they were possibly made as an act of revenge against Wojick.

The case first came to light in November when Wojick confided in another Peabody police officer that his family life was in shambles and he indicated he may have behaved inappropriately toward the girl.

The teen's allegations -- repeated instances of both Wojick inappropriately touching her and having her touch him -- go far beyond the playful backside slapping Wojick admitted to his colleague.

The Salem News reports that prosecutors did not seek bail again for Wojick on Monday, but a judge did grant a request for Wojick to have no contact with either child or the first victim's mother.

Wojick has been suspended from duty as a patrol officer, pending the outcome of the case, which resumes in court for a pre-trial hearing Feb. 26.

what is wrong with you? you have no idea whats going on so if you dont know the truth then dont judge someone. hate people like you. all someone has to do is get accused of something and automaticaly your guilty. what is wrong with this country?!

I can't agree more with Shawn . As I've said before let the jury decision make the decision of guilt or not guilty verdict take place . You forget that it is the lawful process we have in order to make a decision one way or another and that is why we have our system of law to make that decision . How would you like to be accused and found guilty and serve time or even life knowing you did nothing as you were accused of doing? Let the process take place and go with that decision that is made. Can you say you were there when these things took place? If you were then you should be prosecuted for not coming forward. Another words shut up and wait for the truth to come out in a court of law and not by your present standards. I'm not defending him but I'm willing to see justice served one way or the other, are you? JMHO

SUE, How can you say or justify that Shawn or any one is/or is on any perverts side? Your the one who is saying he is guilty not Shawn or any one else. _____ JOSEPH P. JONES , Who are you to say and to use a " bush" to say we are all perverts because of our opinions? Personally I can tell you I'm not protecting any pedophile nor am I one. I suggest you stop using your " brush" when it may just be that you might have someone close to you or unknowingly know of a pedophile . Remember this, when you point a finger at someone you have at least three fingers pointing back at you .
