Final Snowfall Total Reported For Wakefield

Wakefield wound up with a little more than a foot in total.

The sun is back out and although the storm cleanup and frigid temperatures continue, our New Year's blizzard has largely concluded.

With that in mind, the National Weather Service reports that 14.2 inches of snow were recorded in Wakefield as of 9:30 a.m., when the storm was mostly done.

At 7:38 a.m., the National Weather Service had 10.5 inches in Melrose, and 13 inches in Wilmington. Leading communities for snowfall cited by the NWS included Boxford (23.8 inches) and Topsfield (23.5 inches). Nearby Salem and Lynn both had 15 inches reported.
