Senator Katherine Clark, along with Representative Paul Brodeur and Representative Donald Wong recently announced that the Massachusetts Cultural Council has approved $5,850 in funding to the Wakefield Cultural Council.
The MCC’s announcement was made as part of a statewide funding initiative to support a variety of cultural programs and activities in communities throughout the Commonwealth.
“These grants play a central role as we work to develop our local cultural council programs,” said Senator Clark. “With the help of this grant, the Wakefield Cultural Council will be able to continue its mission of supporting local arts programs for the community.”
The Local Cultural Council Program supports thousands of community-based initiatives throughout Massachusetts and is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, providing quality cultural experiences available to all citizens.
“Our local cultural councils provide this district with an important and meaningful service,” said Representative Brodeur. “I am glad the state has allocated these funds for the arts."
“The funding from this grant will help the Wakefield Cultural Council to continue its support of the arts and sciences in our community,” said Representative Wong. “In a time when grants are scarce, we are fortunate to receive this funding.”
