Would-Be Burglar Chased From Roof

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service on Monday, September 23, 2013.
At 9 a.m. police took a call about a white Mustang with dealer plates racing up and down Renee Drive. It was gone on arrival.
At 11:58 a.m. a lawn mower was reported stolen from a front lawn on Greenwood Street.
At 1:43 p.m. police and animal control were informed that a letter carrier was bitten by a dog on Sweetser Street.
At 3:04 p.m. an accident was reported near Salem Street and New Salem Street.
At 3:21 p.m. a vacant home on Traverse Street was reported as broken into.
At 4:20 p.m. a minor accident at the 129 Rotary was reported.
At 5:19 p.m. a caller reported a 3 or 4 year child alone on Bennett Street. Police found the child safe with his parents at home.
At 5:25 p.m. a suspicious vehicle was reported on Ballister Street.
At 6:26 p.m. a caller reported a man appeared to be passed out on the sidewalk on Chestnut Street. He checked out OK.
At 10:10 p.m. police responded to a verbal family disturbance on Gould Street.
At 11:55 p.m. police were informed of a possible break-in in progress on Richardson Ave. A business owner reported chasing an individual from the roof of the building. Police checked the area and found it otherwise secure.
