Woman Taken To Hospital After Being Struck By Car

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service on Monday, October 15, 2012.

At 2:31 p.m., police and rescue personnel responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle at Salem Street and Wharton Park. The woman was transported to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
At 4:18 p.m., a man reported receiving threats via phone from a former co-worker.
At 4:56 p.m., police assisted a woman who was seeking an emergency harassment order.
At 5:09 p.m., a caller reported a commercial burglar alarm going off on Bay State Road, and a man who was on the scene without a pass code. He turned out to be there working on the lights.
At 6:33 p.m., a caller reported that somebody had left a strange picture with a phone number attached to her vehicle on Crescent Street. Further investigation found that the woman’s friend had tried to leave a note for her, and the picture was the only piece of paper available at the time.
At 9:18 p.m., a caller reported hearing a woman screaming near the Breakheart Reservation. State Police checked and did not find anything out of the ordinary.
At 6:42 a.m. on Tuesday, October 16, police arrested John B. Wood, 55, address unknown, Wakefield, on a default assault and battery warrant.
