Wakefield Man Arrested on Indecent Exposure Charge

The following is an excerpt from the Wakefield Police Department's log:


Friday, Sept. 13


  • At 8:20 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Main Street.
  • At 12:12 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Murray Street.
  • At 1:55 p.m., a woman entered the police station to discuss recent threats.
  • At 4:54 p.m., police responded to a disturbance in the woods near Main Street. A caller told police more than a dozen youths were drinking alcohol.

Saturday, Sept. 14


  • At 1:29 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Pleasant Street.
  • At 9:06 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Lowell Street.
  • At 9:07 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Maple Avenue.
  • At 9:24 p.m., police responded to a report of kids ringing doorbells and running off on Lowell Street.
  • At 10:00 p.m., an employee at a Salem Street business called police to report that kids entered the store and dumped the trash container all over the floor.
  • At 10:37 p.m., police responded to a report of a car screeching its tires and driving in circles in the parking garage on Edgewater Drive. Those involved were picked up by their parents and sent on their way.

Sunday, Sept. 15



  • At 2:15 a.m., police stopped a motor vehicle near the intersection of Main and Meriam streets. Jeff Guey, 23, of 350 Cross St., Malden, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
  • At 3:40 a.m., police responded to a disturbance on Avon Court. Ashley Crowell, 22, of 340 Main St., Melrose, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Joaquin Pereira Jr., 24, of 340 Main St., Melrose, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
  • At 1:07 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Salem Street.
  • At 3:04 p.m., police responded to a report of a youth struck by a motor vehicle near the intersection of Vernon and Otis streets. 
  • At 3:57 p.m., a Richardson Avenue resident called police to report that someone threw a rock through their window overnight.
  • At 4:38 p.m., an Appleton Road resident called police to report that their house was egged overnight.
  • At 5:14 p.m., police responded to a report of a man urinating on the side of the road near the UPS store on Lincoln Street. Mark B. Hatch, 51, of 24 Cedar St., Wakefield, was arrested on charges of trespassing and indecent exposure.
  • At 8:17 p.m., police responded to a motorcycle crash at the 129 rotary.
  • At 11:22 p.m., police responded to a domestic disturbance on Audubon Road. Jaqueline Heres, 44, of 95 Audubon Road, Wakefield, was arrested on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Marco E. Haynes, 41, of 39 Boylston St., Boston, was arrested on charges of kidnapping, intimidating a witness and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
  
Monday, Sept. 16

  • At 12:01 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Nahant Street.
  • At 3:33 p.m., an Albion Street resident called police to report that someone stole the catalytic convertor off of his car while it was parked in his driveway.
  • At 4:49 p.m., a Main Street man called police to report that someone stole a dirt-bike from his home.
  • At 5:57 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the CVS on Main Street. Tina M. Westphal, 43, of 41 Richardson Ave., Wakefield, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting merchandise by concealment.
  • At 9:03 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle near the intersection of Main and Pearl streets. Heather L. Roy, 30, of 41 Wilson St., Reading, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. 
  • At 11:22 p.m., police responded to a disturbance near the intersection of Water and Valley streets.

Tuesday, Sept. 17

  • At 8:02 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Main and Summer streets.
  • At 12:08 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on North Avenue.
  • At 2:39 p.m., police made an arrest on Hemlock Road. Matthew R. Wixon, 17, of 15 Eastern Ave., Wakefield, was arrested on a charge of assault and battery. 
  • At 5:14 p.m., a Newell Road resident called police to report two laptops missing from their house. Heath G. Cardillo, 34, of 2 Newell Road, Wakefield, was arrested on charges of breaking and entering a building during the daytime for a felony and two counts of larceny from a building.

Wednesday, Sept. 18

  • At 12:22 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Meriam and Forest streets. A witness reportedly told police a woman fled the scene toward Stoneham. Cory C. Ash, 23, of 59 Lovell Road, Melrose, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
