Vehicle Egged on Salem Street

The following is an excerpt from the Wakefield Police Department's log: 

Wednesday July 31

  • At 1:01 p.m., police responded to a reported larceny on Main Street.
  • At 1:03 p.m., police made an arrest on Water Street. William D. McGonigle, 64, of 318 Water St., Wakefield, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 2:32 p.m., police made an arrest on Fosters Lane. Ryan J. Gordon, 25, of 9 Fosters Lane, Wakefield, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 3:45 p.m., police responded to a report of a man urinating on Main Street.
  • At 5:00 p.m., police responded to a report of kids throwing rocks at geese on Lowell Street.
  • At 6:18 p.m., police responded to a report of stolen cash on Main Street.

Thursday, Aug. 1


  • At 1:31 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity near the intersection of Meriam and Laurel streets.
  • At 4:16 a.m., police received word that a vehicle had been egged on Salem Street.
  • At 11:48 a.m., police responded to a report of wires down near the intersection of Montrose Avenue and MacKenzie Lane.
  • At 5:14 p.m., a resident called police to report "water shooting up 15 to 20 feet" at the cemetery on Lowell Street. The DPW was notified.
  • At 7:05 p.m., police responded to a reported crash into a building on Main Street. Patricia A. Egan, 55, of 29 Sycamore Road, Wakefield, was cited on a charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle. This was the incident in which the front of Dance Track Studio was destroyed and several people taken away for medical treatment.

Friday, Aug. 2

  • At 12:28 a.m., police responded to a disturbance on Main Street.
  • At 6:40 a.m., a syringe was discovered on Preston Street.
