Vehicle Break-Ins Reported, and an Arrest for OUI Drugs

Information provided by the Wakefield Police. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service on Monday, August 12, 2013.

At 7:47 a.m. a woman reported two vehicles were broken into on Richardson Ave.
At 8:20 a.m. a vehicle was reported stolen from Crescent Street. Other area police departments were informed as well.
At 9:10 a.m. a caller reported a hit and run accident on Richardson Ave. Police placed a man into protective custody and arrested Tina M. Westphal, 42, 41 Richardson Ave., Wakefield,  charging her with OUI Drugs… To Wit Klonopin, Leaving the Scene of Property Damage, and Unlawful Passing on the Right.
At 9:19 a.m. a caller reported a past vehicle break-in on Crescent Street.
At 12:15 p.m. an officer was flagged down by a Crescent Street resident who reported a vehicle break-in from the previous night. Nothing appeared to have been stolen.
At 12:29 p.m. police were informed of a man panhandling in front of a liquor store on Water Street.
At 5:09 p.m. an accident was reported on the 129 Rotary.
At 6:09 p.m. police took a report involving harassing phone calls.
At 6:49 p.m. police were informed of youths throwing objects at cars near Lowell Street and Vernon Street. They were gone on arrival.
At 11:43 p.m. an intoxicated male was reported near Salem Street and New Salem Street, walking into traffic and lying on the ground. Police released the subject to the custody of his wife.
