Vandalized Car and a Burning Sidewalk Reported

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service on Thursday, October 3, 2013.
At 7:51 a.m. police and fire personnel responded to the scene of a high pressure gas line damaged by a backhoe at North Ave. and Main Street. Commuter service was also briefly delayed. A full account of the incident can be seen at this link.

At 10:13 a.m. police took a report involving harassing phone calls.
At  11:16 a.m. the fire department assisted a woman locked out of her home on Oak Street.
At 12:41 p.m. a suspicious person was reported inside a building on Water Street. The individual was not located and further investigation did not turn up his identity.
At 1:50 p.m. police took a report of a larceny.
At 3:48 p.m. a caller reported past vandalism to a motor vehicle.
At 6:48 p.m. police assisted gas and light personnel with turning a gas main on at North Ave. and Main Street.
At 8:52 p.m. police responded to Wiley Street for a verbal family dispute.
On Friday, October 4 at 12:57 a.m. a man on Chestnut Street called and reported that his sidewalk was on fire. Police and fire personnel reported finding the caller with a garden hose but apparently no sign of a fire.
