Two Recent Wakefield Break-Ins Reported Solved
A brother and sister from Stoneham have reportedly been summonsed in connection with two recent home break-ins in Wakefield.
Wakefield Police announced this week that they have solved two recent house breaks in town.
The breaks in question took place in late May – one of them May 20 on Wave Avenue, the other May 28 on Indian Hill Lane. In both cases, residents reported a suspicious black station wagon in the area.
For the Wave Avenue break-in, a resident reported that a basement window was kicked in, with several thousand dollars worth of jewelry, as well as electronics equipment, reported stolen.
On Indian Hill, a homeowner reported at the time that somebody had run his doorbell but he did not answer it. He then heard a screeching noise that he thought was from an animal. Instead, the noise came from somebody unsuccessfully trying to gain entry to the house by pulling back a screen in the rear kitchen area. Nothing was reported stolen in this incident.
Wakefield Detectives Michael O’Connell and Ken Silva reportedly worked with Stoneham Police, who had a similar vehicle description attached to a house break in that town. From there, police found pawn sheets from businesses in Stoneham and Everett for the jewelry reported stolen from Wave Ave. They also located a 2004 black Saturn VUE in Stoneham that was allegedly used in both house breaks.
Wakefield Police reported Tuesday that a 30-year-old Stoneham man and a 26-year-old Stoneham woman were summonsed in connection with the case. A 24-year-old woman was also issued a summons in connection with the Indian Hill Lane case.
