Two Arrests and a Car Fire Reported Over Weekend

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service between Friday, July 26 and Sunday, July 28.

On Friday, July 26 at 10:50 a.m. police arrested Cheung Wan Li, 47, 25 James O’Neil Street, Boston, and charged the defendant with sexual conduct for a fee.
At 12:19 p.m. police took a report of a theft on Albion Street. They soon issued a summons to a 29 year old Woburn resident for larceny under $250.
At 1:48 p.m. police took a call about a suspicious vehicle on Crescent Street.
At 2:29 p.m. police sent a man and woman on their way from the Main Street and Water Street bus stop after being informed they were arguing.
At 3:18 p.m. a caller reported her parked car was damaged slightly on Audubon Road.
At 3:33 p.m. a caller reported a possible scam attempt.
At 6:36 p.m. a caller reported a man in a car on Bay Street left the area when approached.
At 7:01 p.m. police issued a summons to a 55 year old Wakefield man and charged him with operating with a suspended/revoked registration.
At 9:14 p.m. a Nelson Ave. resident reported some youths throwing eggs at her home.
At 10:17 p.m. a caller reported a suspicious vehicle on Penfield Circle. It was a broken down vehicle.

On Saturday, July 27 at 12:23 a.m. an officer assisted a runner on North Ave. who left his keys in the car.
At 1:39 a.m. police responded to Lafayette Street for a neighbor dispute.
At 4 a.m. the fire department responded to the area near Main Street and Lincoln Street after a street sweeper reportedly broke down and spilled gas on the road.
At 9:12 a.m. the fire department responded to a report of a car fire near Lowell Street and Vernon Street.
At 10:58 a.m. police took a complaint about an ongoing problem with motorcycle engines revving on Water Street. Police issued a summons to a 25 year old Saugus man for keeping a noisy and disorderly house.
At 1:02 p.m. a caller on Lakeview Ave. requested assistance in having a party removed from the house. Police arrested Mark W. Theriault, 50, and charged him with resisting arrest, two counts of assault and battery on a police officer, witness intimidation, and on a warrant.
At 1:58 p.m. police, fire and Action Ambulance personnel responded to the area near Meriam Street and Main Street after being informed of a body floating in the water. The remains of a local woman in her 70s were recovered. The matter remained under investigation but police indicated there was no public safety threat.
At 6:59 p.m. an accident was reported near Main Street and Pearl Street.
At 9:23 p.m. police took a report of a loud group of youths refusing to leave the Clarion Inn property.

On Sunday, July 28 at 12:08 a.m. police dispersed a large house party on Main Street and placed a 19 year old woman into protective custody.
At 4:18 a.m. a woman on Audubon Road reported two men had accessed the front door of her building without using a key. They turned out to be friends of another resident using the pool.
At 9:55 a.m. police took an identity theft report.
At 12:06 p.m. an accident was reported near Penfield Circle.
At 3:11 p.m. police responded to a family dispute on Keeling Road.
