Three Arrested Over Holiday Weekend

Information provided by the Wakefield Police. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service between Friday, August 30 and Monday, September 2, 2013.

On Friday, August 30 at 9:06 a.m., police took a report of a hit and run accident on Edgewater Drive, with minor damage. Police located the other driver and paperwork was exchanged.
At 10:09 a.m.  a caller on Lowell Street reported a landscaper had damaged his vehicle.
At 10:20 a.m. police and rescue personnel responded to Hillside Ave. for a report of a woman who spilled hot water on her legs. She was treated at the scene.
At 11:07 a.m. police took a fraud report.
At 1:39 p.m. the State Police handled a motorcycle accident on 128 North. The driver was not injured.
At 2:07 p.m., police issued a summons to a 40 year old Lawrence resident charging him with a red light/stop sign violation and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
At 4:38 p.m. the fire department responded to Chesnut Street for a report of some oil spilled in the roadway.
At 5:33 p.m. a minor accident with no injury was reported in the Eastern Bank parking lot.
At 6:54 p.m. police were informed of a male yelling at others on Hemlock Road. Police issued a summons to an 18 year old Wakefield resident charging him with OUI drugs, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. He was transported by ambulance to an area hospital from the scene.
At 7:24 p.m. police took a report of a male trespassing on the athletic field at the high school. He was gone on arrival.
At 9:11 p.m. a woman on Albion Street reported a stolen car. It turned out to be parked nearby.

On Saturday, August 31 at 2:58 a.m., police arrested Matthew R. Shields, 26, 718 Salem Street, Wakefield, and charged him with a tire tread depth violation, a marked lanes violation, and OUI Liquor.
At 11:59 a.m. the fire department responded to Audubon Road for a report of a malfunctioning elevator.
At 7:08 p.m. the state police responded to Breakeart Reservation for a report of an intoxicated male there.
At 7:50 p.m. a caller on Redfield Road reported that two turtle signs used for slowing vehicles were stolen, with a value of about $40.

At 8:43 p..m. police responded to Bartley Street for a report of an assault.

On Sunday, August 1 at 1:06 a.m. police found two individuals on Audubon Road and transported a woman home who reported that she did not feel comfortable there with  a male friend who she had met one time previously.
At 1:33 a.m. police responded to Yale Ave. over a report of an intoxicated man causing a disturbance.
At 6:04 p.m. police arrested Michelle LeBlanc, 32, 14 Armory Street, Wakefield, and charged her with operating with a suspended license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and two warrants.
At 11:11 p.m. police took a call from Coolidge Park about a prank call coming in from a blocked number.

On Monday, September 2 at 1:13 a.m. an individual reportedly causing a disturbance on Summer Street was sent on his way.
At 2:45 a.m. Wakefield and State Police responded to 95 North for an accident.
At 2:54 p.m. a local father informed police that his son had just struck the building where Pit Stop BBQ is located on Vernon Street, causing minor damage.
At 4:13 p.m. a minor accident was reported on North Ave. Police issued a summons to a 36 year old Salem man charging him with operating with a suspended license.
At 7:49 p.m. police were informed that a tractor trailer backed into a pole on Audubon Road, with no injuries.
At 8:32 p.m. the fire department responded to a report of a propane leak on Howard Street.
At 10:01 p.m. a caller reported a vehicle on the tracks at Main Street and Greenwood Ave. It was gone on arrival.
At 10:26 p.m. police arrested Lawrence F. Poor, 32, 10 Cyrus Street, Wakefield, charging him on a warrant.
