Suspicious Man at Antique Shop, and a Bat in the House

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service on Tuesday, August 13, 2013.
At 9:20 a.m. a caller on Lowell Street reported that her car was overheating and possibly about to catch fire. The fire department responded.
At 11:38 a.m. police took a call about suspicious sounds at a house on Charles Street. It turned out to be a prospective buyer doing work.
At 11:49 a.m. a caller reported a man sitting in a car on Sweetser Street all day.
At 12:05 p.m. a Richardson Ave. resident reported threats from a neighbor.
At 12:16 p.m. police responded to a business on Melvin Street to separate two parties involved in a verbal dispute.
At 1:27 p.m. police took a call about a truck idling on Audubon Road all day. The driver was sleeping in the cab and shut the vehicle off.
At 3:45 p.m. a caller reported two males running down Andrews Road in orange jumpsuits.
At 6:10 p.m. a caller on North Ave. reported a man taking items from the backyard of a residence. It turned out to be a friend borrowing something.
At 8:15 p.m. a caller on Lowell Street reported a motorist backed into another car and attempted to leave.
At 8:25 p.m.  a caller reported a formerly roommate possibly stole $50 in change.
At 9:50 p.m. a Parker Road resident reported a strange noise in the yard. It turned out to be an animal.
At 1:37 a.m. an officer confronted an individual on Main Street who was attempting to open the door of a closed antique business. The individual was apparently coming from JJ Round Park and claimed he needed to use the bathroom.
At 4:02 a.m. an Old Colony Drive resident requested help removing a bat from her home. The animal was not found.
At 7:17 a.m. police were informed that a detail officer was struck by a car near Main Street and Nahant Street.
