Snow Caused Some Accidents, And a Safe Turns Up in the Road

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service on Thursday, January 2, 2014.
At 9:22 a.m. an accident was reported on North Ave. near 128. One vehicle was towed.
At 9:49 a.m. a citizen reported getting stuck on ice near Salem Street and Vernon Street.
At 10:59 a.m. police were informed that a motorist drove into a snow bank on New Salem Street.
At 12:03 p.m. an accident was reported on Vernon Street. Two vehicles were towed.
At 12:32 p.m. an auto was reportedly rear-ended on Audubon Road.
At 12:49 p.m. a caller reported a safe on the side of the road at the 129 Rotary. The safe apparently showed signs of tampering. State Police took possession of the safe, which turned out to have been found in Reading.
At 2:12 p.m. police were informed of a past auto theft on Bay State Road.
At 8:16 p.m. a caller reported an unknown vehicle in his driveway on Fairmount Ave. The matter was resolved.
At 9:04 p.m. police responded to a domestic disturbance on Norway Street and arrested Corey L. Fanjoy, 44, 2 Norway Street, Wakefield, charging him with assault and battery on an individual 60+/disabled with injury, and with assault and battery – domestic.
At 9:28 p.m. a caller reported a driver recklessly operating in a Main Street parking lot.
Between 12:36 a.m. and 4:59 a.m. on Friday morning, January 3, a number of vehicles were ticketed or towed for impeding snow removal.
