Relatively Quiet Day For Local Police

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service on Wednesday, August 22.
At 10:31 a.m., an Albion Street resident called about a van that someone had left on his property back in June while claiming that it would be repaired.
At 11:14 a.m., a business owner on Broadway reported that a kryptonite lock and a tin box had been stolen from a scrap area. A suspect was located and the owner chose not to press charges.
At 12:51 p.m., police responded to a report of a disabled auto in the road at Main Street and Armory Street.
At 2:29 p.m., a caller reported a 17 year old male on a skateboard with a group of middle schoolers for interfering with pedestrians on a sidewalk. Police spoke with them and sent them on their way.
At 5:02 p.m., police were informed that a vehicle backed into a train gate at North Ave. and Prospect St. and knocked it down, and then left the scene. Traffic was diverted and the MBTA was notified.
At 6:46 p.m., a caller reported a white pickup truck struck two curbs while driving on Water Street. An area search was negative.
At 8:24 p.m., police took a call about two missing passports.
