Pregnant Woman Allegedly Assaulted, Arrest Made

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service on Thursday, November 21, 2013. 
At 8:19 a.m. numerous calls were received about a strong odor of smoke in town. It turned out to be the outdoor fire in Wilmington happening at the time. 
At 8:53 a.m. police took a report of a possible theft. 
At 10:27 a.m. a case of larceny by check was reported. 
At 10:56 a.m. a passerby near Prospect Street and Parker Road reported a suspicious man dressed in black walking into a back yard. It turned out to be a landscaper at work. 
At 11:09 a.m. Wakefield Police were informed by the state that a pregnant woman had been assault. Fire and Action Ambulance personnel responded with police, who arrested Selma Dos-Reis, 33, 35 Radcliffe Road, Somerville, and charged her with assault and battery and assault with a dangerous weapon. 
At 11:30 a.m. police were informed that a motorist had swerved into a telephone pole on Oak Street to avoid a cat in the road. The car suffered only minor damage. 
At 2:55 p.m. an accident was reported on North Ave. 
At 8:01 p.m. police issued a summons to a 30 year old Waltham man charging him with operating with a revoked/suspended license, failure to yield at an intersection, and a miscellaneous motor vehicle equipment violation. 
At 11:39 p.m. police were informed that a man was in some bushes near Main Street and Water Street. He checked out and was sent on his way.
