Police Warn Residents About Driver's License Website

Resident brought website to attention of police, who point out that the only valid site for renewing driver's licenses is the official state one.

Wakefield Police are advising local residents to be wary of a particular website that purports to offer driver’s license renewal and other services.

According to Lieutenant Craig Calabrese of the Wakefield Police, one town resident recently brought the MassachusettsDriversLicense.org website to the attention of the department.  That particular website “is not a valid site for renewing a drivers license or registration,” said Calabrese in an email, adding that the proper website for state drivers license renewals and other such services is the official state one at this address.

Calabrese also noted that the driver’s license website in question also apparently charges a fee and asks for personal information.
