Police Make Several Arrests Over the Weekend

Information provided by the Wakefield Police. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service between Friday, August 9 and Sunday, August 11.

On Friday, August 9 at 11:52 a.m. police took a report from a woman involving a fight with her sister. Police arrested Christine M. Hunt, 35, 165 Parker Road, Wakefield, and charged her with assault and battery on a pregnant female and on a warrant.
At 1:02 p.m. a possible hit and run was reported on Magnolia Terrace.
At 3:56 p.m. police took a report of a necklace stolen from an apartment on Bennett Street.
At 4:12 p.m. police took a report involving a handicapped resident on Audubon Road unable to get to their apartment because of a broken elevator. The matter was resolved.
At 4:17 p.m. an accident was reported near the Sheraton Colonial.
At 5 p.m. police responded to an argument between family members on Nahant Street. Peace was restored.
At 5:40 p.m. a minor accident was reported on Main Street.
At 5:52 p.m. police issued a summons to a 28-year-old Saugus man for operating with a suspended/revoked license, operating with a suspended/revoked registration, and a red light/stop sign violation.
At 6:02 p.m. police were informed that a 6-year-old girl on Main Street had a marble in her ear. The fire department and Action Ambulance responded.
At 6:14 p.m. an accident was reported on Main Street.
At 9:52 p.m. police took a call involving harassing phone calls.
At 10:10 p.m. a loud noise of unknown origin was reported on Humphrey Street.
At 11:23 p.m. police responded to a Salem Street home after a vehicle apparently rolled out of the driveway.

On Saturday, August 10 at 12:52 a.m. police responded to Sylvan Ave. for a report of an assault and arrested Kristin L. Emery, 41, 341 Myrtle Street, Manchester, charging her with assault and battery domestic, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, assault with a dangerous weapon, to wit: a glass vase, and felony vandalism/defacing property.
At 2:25 a.m. a caller reported a vehicle had just struck two parked cars on Main Street. Police Arrested Darren F. Shanafelt Jr., 24, 34 Joseph Way, Reading, charging him with OUI Liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
At 3 a.m. a Wiley Street resident reported spotting somebody trying to break in to her husband’s vehicle. The suspect, described as a white male around 5’10 in a tan hoodie and black pants, reportedly ran toward Water Street. Saugus Police were also notified and the K9 unit and State Police also responded. No other signs of vehicle tampering were found in the area.
At 7:57 a.m. a caller reported a driver’s side window smashed in the vocational school parking lot.
At 8:04 a.m. a mailbox was reported vandalized on Renee Drive.
At 8:27 a.m. a bicyclist reported being nearly struck by a fallen tree near Main Street and Green Street. The light department responded to cut the tree from the wires.
At 9:50 a.m. a caller reported credit card fraud.
At 10 a.m. a caller reported that a man threw a white t-shirt out the window near Greenwood Street that appeared to have items wrapped in it. Further investigation found no items wrapped in the shirt, the driver was not located.
At 12:38 p.m. police arrested Jacquard Tyler, 27, 11 Beacon Street, Melrose, and charged him with lewd, wanton and lascivious conduct.
At 4:02 p.m. police arrested Patricia M. Wojcik, 47, 3 Greenwood Street, Wakefield, charging her with operating with a suspended license, subsequent.

On Sunday, August 11 at 1:50 a.m. police checked on a verbal dispute between a man and a woman on Murray Street.
At 11:14 a.m. a Main Street resident reported some pink flamingo lawn ornaments stolen.
At 2:06 p.m. police took a report involving some stolen jewelry.
