Police Log: Police Arrest Wakefield Man on Larceny Charge

Police arrested Donald Ferguson, 43, on an outstanding warrant out of Malden District Court.

Featured item: Police arrested a Wakefield man in his home on Thursday afternoon on two outstanding warrant charges. Donald Ferguson, 43, of 210 Broadway St. in Wakefield was arrested at 3:30 p.m. at home on outstanding charges out of Malden District Court for larceny and misuse of a credit card.

Other incidents:  

1:11 p.m. - A caller reported to police that earlier that morning while her car was parked at Veterans Field, she saw a young male reaching in her window in a possible attempt to open her car door. The woman described the male as about 13 years old with blond hair. The victim said nothing was broken or stolen.

8:10 p.m. - A Malden man will be summonsed to court for allegedly driving without a valid license in Wakefield. Police stopped a vehicle at the corner of Main Street and Green Street for failing to stop at a stop sign, and determined the driver of the vehicle did not have a valid license. The driver was summonsed to Malden District Court for charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a stop sign violation. 

8:40 p.m. - Wakefield Police responded to a fist fight between neighbors on Layfayette Street. Police had no further information on the incident at this time. No serious injuries were reported.

9:45 p.m. - Police recieved a noise complaint on Spaulding Street. Police said they located a large group of kids who were making noise and asked them to leave the area. 

9:14 p.m. - A Wakefield woman was summonsed to court for allegedly driving an unregistered car without insurance. Police said they ran a registry check on a blue Ford Focus traveling on North Avenue that showed the car's registration had been revoked for insurance cancellation. Police pulled over the driver and her car was towed from the scene. She will be summonsed to Malden District Court on charges of driving an uninsured motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with a revoked or suspended registration. 

Friday, May 29:
12:55 a.m. -  Police responded to a car crash on Elm Street where the operator of a vehicle crashed into a utility pole. Police said the driver had fallen asleep while driving. The operator had only minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital.
