Police Log: One Arrested on Outstanding Drug Charge

Wakefield Police arrested a Wakefield man for an outstanding charge of alleged possession of Class B drugs after he called police to report a different incident.

Wakefield Police responded to a home on Armory Street around 8:53 p.m. for a call that a disoriented female was in a neighbor's yard, and she was attempting to remove her pants. Police responded and found the female to be unconscious. However, after the woman was taken to the hospital, police realized the caller, Matthew Desrosier, 36, of 27 Armory Street, had an outstanding default warrant for his arrest for alleged possession of a Class B substance out of Lowell District Court. He was arrested and taken into police custody.

Other incidents:
11 a.m. - Police responded to a minor car accident in the 129 Rotary. No injuries were reported.

1:24 p.m. - Wakefield Police received a call from a man in Arkansas, who said he was being harrassed by a woman in Wakefield. Police followed up with the woman, who said she was calling about child support she did not receive from the man. She was advised to go to court.

2:30 p.m. - Police are summonsing to court a Wakefield man for allegedly fleeing the scene of a traffic stop. Police said they stopped a driver at the corner of Richardson Street and Wakefield Avenue, but he drove away as the officer approached the car. Police found the man's vehicle unoccupied and parked on Melvin Street. Police said they spoke with a female who had been in the car with the man, and she told police he had run off into the woods. Police have issued a summons for his arrest.

3:42 p.m. - A minor car crash occured on Water Street. No injuries were reported.

4:30 p.m. - A Salem Street resident reported receiving a scam letter from the "Portugal International Lotto Commission" stating he had won money from the lottery. Police confirmed it was a scam attempt.

8:53 p.m. - Wakefield Police responded to a home on Armory Street for a call that a disoriented female was in a neighbor's yard, and she was attempting to remove her pants. 9:03 p.m. - A resident of Houston Street reported a dog bit her around 4:30 p.m. that day. She was advised to contact the animal control officer.
