Wakefield Fire Chief read true story about a Vermont family to kids at St. Joseph School.

The following was provided by the Wakefield Fire Department:

Wakefield Fire Chief Michael Sullivan recently read the book Fire to Jane Ellis' third grade class at St. Joseph School.

Written by Jessie Haas, Fire is a true story of how a family's farm home in Vermont burned a long time ago and the safety procedures the family used that enabled all of them stay alive. Material things were lost but the people and animals were all safe. The people in the village all work together as community to help the family rebuild. It was wonderful to see that even in our world of computers, the class absolutely loved listening to Chief Sullivan read to them and they used their imaginations to picture in their minds what was described in the book.
