One Arrest, And Malfunctioning Dishwasher Causes Fire Hazard

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service on Tuesday, October 1, 2013.
At 7:56 a.m. a caller reported a purse was stolen from her vehicle, but then apparently found it.
At 9:17 a.m. an individual reported almost being struck by a vehicle on North Ave. An officer spoke with the driver and the matter was resolved.
At 9:41 a.m. a woman reported that an iPad and some money was missing after a move.
At 10:39 a.m. police took a report involving phone threats.
At 1:12 p.m. police took a report involving some cash missing at a group home on Heather Lane.
At 3 p.m. the fire department responded to Bryant Street for smoke in a house that turned out to be caused by a dishwasher problem.
At 6:13 p.m. police arrested Victor Manuel Aviles, 18, 151 Broadway, Wakefield, and charged him on a warrant for disorderly conduct and a warrant for breaking and entering in the nighttime.
At 9:25 p.m. an officer reported being flagged down near Greenwood Street by a suspicious male who wanted to file a report about finding a nail in the middle of the road.
At 10:20 p.m. a Water Street resident complained about noise from carpet cleaning at a neighbor’s.
